Yesterday, I went to the 10:00 p.m. showing of A SOUND OF THUNDER at Tinseltown, Pflugerville.

I was so looking forward to this movie. Time travel & dinosaurs - what could be better? Unfortunately, while this is a great concept, the movie seemed rushed and flat. I would give it a C-.

There were only a handful of people in the theatre, in fact, when we got there at 9:30 p.m. we were the only ones there! I chose a seat in the middle of the 8th row. The next two people to come in, a couple in their mid-40's, sat right behind us and promptly kicked my seat. WHAT THE HELL? You've got a whole empty theatre and you have to sit right behind us?? The man called his significant other (don't know if she was a wife) on his cell phone while she went to get concessions... They were discussing different ice cream flavors... Then he got a call from someone else and just talked loudly for about five mins (this is all pre-movie, mind you). I made like I had just discovered I was under the AC vent and moved us down a few seats.

During the opening previews, this couple talked loudly because, OMG, the previews are loud, so they must be louder. I was tempted to move us again, but we stayed. I was wondering if this was the same couple from our ill-fated Riverdance show.

Anyhow, vying for the recognition of annoying a$$hat was a family that brought their kid to this movie. Kid was probably 5 or 6 years old... They were telling each other to shut up however, which I found quite endearing.

And that's my story...
